Zion Old School Baptist Church","description":"Built in 1851, Mt. Zion Old School Baptist Church was a place of worship until 1980. Located in Loudoun County, Virginia at the historic intersection of the Little River Turnpike and the Old Carolina Road, Mt. Zion has a rich local legacy. A significant site during the Civil War, it was a rendezvous point for Mosby’s Rangers, a hospital, a prison, and a battleground during the conflict. The adjacent cemetery contains more than 240 marked headstones, including a War of 1812 veteran. The church is now situated in Mt. Zion Historic Park, which is owned and operated by the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority. Weddings and lectures are held inside the church, while the grounds provide interpretive signage and trails for visitors. For more information, please visit Mt.
